Appeal For Witnesses To M40 Collision

Warwickshire Police are investigating a serious road traffic collision on the northbound carriageway of the M40 between junctions 14 & 15 at around 12.20pm on Saturday 15 October.

The collision involved a grey coloured Renault Megane Estate and a green Vauxhall Astra.

As a result of the collision the Renault Megane flipped on to its roof. A female passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where she received treatment for an arm injury.

The 44 year old female driver of the Vauxhall Astra, the only occupant of that vehicle, was taken to Warwick Hospital for treatment to minor injuries and later released.

As a result of the collision the northbound carriageway was closed to traffic. The southbound carriageway was also closed for a short time to allow the air ambulance to land.

Police investigating the collision would like to hear from anyone travelling on the M40 motorway around12.15pm who saw the two vehicles travelling north near to the Warwick and Leamington Spa turnings, or anyone who witnessed the collision itself.
