The family of 21 year old George Ireland of Post Office Lane in Stockton, who died as a result of a road traffic collision on the A426 Rugby Road near Southam at 1pm on Thursday 15 September have issued the following tribute to their son.
"George was our eldest son doing exceptionally well in life and will be dearly missed by us, and so many people who knew him. Thank you for all the support we have received in this very sad time."
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision that occurred when the blue Renault Clio that Mr Ireland was driving from Rugby towards Southam, left the road and collided with some small trees before going down an embankment into a quarry.
Despite concerted attempts to save him, he was declared dead at the scene.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses to please contact PC 0588 Mick Hogan in the Major Investigation Unit on 01926 415415.
This fatal accident came a week after another incident where a car also left the Rugby Road killing the driver. The car involved in that accident was also a Renault Clio, in red. Police are also seeking any witnesses to that incident and sightings of the car.
