Running in a pack or as a lone wolf...
The next Wolf Run takes place this Saturday [September 24] just outside of Southam on the Welsh Road, near Bascote [click here for map].
Spectators are very welcome and there is a post-run party that should be good fun!
The Wolf Run is an approx. 10k off-road run through the Warwickshire countryside with obstacles (man-made and natural) located throughout the run.
The concept behind the Wolf Run was to re-create the feeling of running in natural terrain - a wild run that would allow runners to experience natural, raw running conditions as far as possible whilst also presenting runners with a challenging, interesting and seriously enjoyable event.
Is the Wolf Run a race?
The Wolf Run is all about the experience of Wild Running™ - running wild and being 100% involved in the event. The Wolf Run is not a race - every year the event has different obstacles and varied courses which are designed to test and develop your strength, stamina and total body fitness, not to give you a 10K PB. The organisers think every runner should run their way - whether it’s cooperatively, helping other runners over obstacles and experiencing running as a pack, or running alone - the classic lone wolf!
How is the Wolf Run different from other off-road events?
Off-road running is becoming increasingly popular and the organisers are hugely supportive of anything that encourages and enables off-road running! Any off-road race is a great idea - getting off the pavements and treadmills into interesting, challenging terrain is amazingly good for you physically and mentally.
The Wolf Run provides a unique mix of great running trails across open ground with a series of serious physical challenges, using natural and man-made obstacles. It incorporates these obstacles throughout the race instead of focussing them all in one place, making the run more organic and recreating a natural, wild run.
The location is also standout - stunning Warwickshire countryside with the run taking place over a 200 acre farm with natural lakes and woodland. Because the organisers have access to the location all year round, they can ensure that the obstacles are well designed and built, and the course is in top condition for the Run.
The design of the obstacles is also overseen by a fitness professional with a Masters in Sports Science and years of experience in functional fitness training. This ensures that your entire body is worked by the design of the course, providing an excellent all-body workout that will challenge you and leave you fitter and stronger.

Is there an age limit?
Yes - you have to be 18 or older on the day of the Wolf Run to participate. There is no upper age limit.
Can we bring spectators?
Absolutely - they can come in for free and there are spectator areas for them to watch the run from. However, they won’t be able to see the whole event as the Run doesn’t just go round and round a small area! They will be able to see some of the obstacles, cheer you on and enjoy the food and beverages on offer.
Do I have to sign a waiver to participate?
Yes - you will be required to sign a waiver on the event day in which you acknowledge that you will be taking part in a potentially dangerous event with a risk of personal injury. If you would like to receive a copy of this waiver in advance, please contact the organisers and they will send it to you.
Can we enter a team?
Yes - you are more than welcome to run as a team. If you can get a team of five people together to enter as a pack, the fifth person runs for free!
Will there be food and drink at the Wolf Run?
Yes - there will be lots of good local food (including a hog roast and cake stall!) and a bar on site at the Wolf Run finish area (which is located very near the car park). There will also be music for the post-run afternoon party. The day finishes at 5pm when everyone heads home - tired but happy!
